TOKYO, September 17, 2026 — Cognite today announced that its industrial AI and data platform has been selected by AGC Inc. as the manufacturing data integration platform for its Chemicals Company.
In the materials and chemical industries today, there is an urgent need to address the future decline in the working population due to the declining birthrate and aging population, transfer accumulated expertise, and create new value through data utilization. AGC is strongly driving company-wide Digital Transformation (DX) initiatives to build a sustainable operating framework for its chemical plants and further strengthen its competitiveness.
Through a Proof of Concept (PoC) already conducted, the effectiveness of data integration has been confirmed, and going forward, a phased rollout to major domestic bases within the Chemicals Company is scheduled to proceed.
Through this implementation, various manufacturing and equipment data scattered across each manufacturing base will be centrally consolidated and structured, establishing an environment where necessary information can be accessed quickly. By doing so, AGC aims to move away from reliance on expert know-how, advance the standardization of business processes, achieve rapid decision-making and productivity improvements through advanced data utilization and AI usage, and further optimize operations and create value.
