On 12 May 2026, Cognite officially unveiled Cognite Flows™, the new standard for industrial workers, a major step forward in how frontline teams engage with AI and data. The global livestream marked more than a product launch - it was a call to action for the frontline teams who have kept operations running while being underserved by technology for decades.

For years, industrial teams have been expected to make critical decisions using fragmented systems, disconnected tools, and workflows that were never designed around the realities of the uncarpeted floor. While many corporate functions have benefited from modern software experiences, frontline industrial workers have too often been left with tools that slow them down rather than help them act faster.
As Cognite CEO Girish Rishi emphasized, the people who are at the industrial frontline deserve technology that matches the importance of the work they do every day:
“The industrial heroes hard at work on the uncarpeted floor are demanding better tools and better experiences to rise to the occasion and meet that change head-on. When they get what they need, value flows upwards and compounds exponentially.”

Cognite Flows changes that by bringing together AI-ready industrial data, adaptive experiences, native applications, and custom workflows in a single, production-ready environment. Built on Cognite’s real-time Industrial Knowledge Graph, Flows helps teams move from fragmented data and manual processes to trusted, actionable workflows designed around how frontline teams actually work, enabling industrial organizations to create and deploy tailored experiences up to 100x faster.
As Cognite Chief Product Officer Chirayu Shah highlighted during the launch:
“For the first time, software will adapt to the user, rather than the user adapting to the software.”
Real-world impact, already in motion
The real-world impact of Flows is not just a promise. More than 50 customers are already using Flows to increase production, reduce downtime, improve efficiency, and accelerate time-to-value.
Dr. Michael Kaiser, Operational Technology Leader at B. Braun, shared that:
“Gaining true operational transparency is foundational to our digital strategy, and Cognite Flows has provided us with a unified and contextualized view of our entire data landscape.”
Other customers are already seeing what this new way of working can make possible. A top global pharma company delivered AI workflows in just four days, achieving 30x faster time to value. Aker BP is using AI-guided workflows to fast-track anomaly detection and prolong asset lifespan. Japanese energy leader Idemitsu Kosan is using Flows to digitize decades of accumulated operational expertise, making critical knowledge more accessible to the next generation of workers.
Analysts recognize the shift
Industry analysts have responded with strong enthusiasm, recognizing Cognite Flows as a clear signal of Cognite’s leadership and market momentum, bringing a more intuitive, personalized, and scalable way for industrial teams to work with data and AI.
In ARC Advisory Group’s recent article, “Rethinking the Industrial Experience,” Colin Mason, Director of Research for Industrial AI, noted Cognite Flows bridges the critical gap between raw data contextualization and the daily, practical workflows of the frontline worker.
Jonathan Lang, Research Director at IDC, also shared,
“Cognite Flows builds on the company’s core capabilities and has the potential to represent a significant leap in how industrial AI–built the right way–can improve the industrial experience for users and developers alike.”
Sebastian Trolli of Frost & Sullivan further underscored Cognite’s differentiation and leadership in this space, noting,
“Cognite’s market differentiation is now even stronger as Flows pulls together several layers into a single proposition: contextualized data, AI agents, user experience, custom apps, and a governed rollout.”
A global celebration of innovation
The energy during the event was electric, spanning from our headquarters in Phoenix to watch parties hosted by our offices around the world, including Oslo, Tokyo, Austin, Houston, and Bengaluru, as well as by global partners. It was a day to celebrate the "industrial heroes" who deserve better than the underwhelming digital tools of the past. More than 3,500 viewers also watched the event live and the recorded version on launch day.

Cogniters celebrate the Launch of Cognite Flows
Launch partners Radix and Rovisys attended the event, where the collaboration between our teams underscored the strength of the ecosystem behind Flows.
“Cognite Flows allows us to focus on what we do best—solving complex industrial challenges—while removing the traditional friction of app development. This means we can deliver more value to our customers faster than ever before…”
said Natalia Klafke, Executive Vice President of Energy & Sustainability at Radix.

The launch also introduced Bjørn, Cognite’s first mascot and the playful spirit of Cognite brought to life. Inspired by Cognite’s Norwegian roots and our belief that industrial teams deserve technology built for the future, Bjørn combines aurora-blue energy, phoenix-like wings, and a moonshot-inspired suit to represent curiosity, momentum, and fearless determination. Curious, fast-moving, intellectually honest, and not afraid to say what everyone else is already thinking, Bjørn is here to champion the industrial heroes who keep the world running.

The new standard for the industrial experiences
As we look toward Cognite’s MoonShot goal of delivering $100 billion in value to customers by 2035, Cognite Flows stands as the most consequential launch in our history.
It is about more than efficiency. It is about helping industrial heroes turn deep domain expertise into action, accelerate time-to-value, and bring decision-making closer to the frontline.
