Cognite Japan's annual event, Impact World Tour Tokyo, held at the Palace Hotel Tokyo on Thursday, September 17, 2026, concluded with great success, attracting 500 registered attendees, a significant increase in scale compared to the previous year's event. This event featured numerous ideas for dramatically streamlining on-site operations and automating field know-how using AI and data.

Ory Yoshifuji, Ory Laboratory
As a special guest, Ory Yoshifuji, a high-profile developer of avatar robots, took the stage. The speaker gave a presentation on the development background of "OriHime," an avatar robot that overcomes physical limitations, and how technology can extend human capabilities and potential. Although the fields are different, the approach of "solving on-site problems with technology and unlocking human potential" resonated strongly with participants who are promoting DX in the industrial sector.

The presentation by Kansai Electric Power introduced its DX initiatives aimed at addressing challenges such as personnel reductions and aging equipment. As a result, ensuring the future inheritance of its hydroelectric business. While implementing Cognite at its 153 hydroelectric power plants, the company described facing challenges in data quality, scalability, and utilization, but is driving business transformation through on-site-led workshops and the use of AI technology. On the same day as the event, we issued a press release regarding Kansai Electric Power’s adoption of Cognite.

Nobuyoshi Hojo, Idemitsu Kosan
Idemitsu Kosan, has implemented a virtual integrated database using Cognite at its manufacturing sites, improving the efficiency of information retrieval. Based on ideas gained in collaboration with the manufacturing floor, they are developing specialized AI agents for troubleshooting and other tasks. Through the AI orchestrator concept and strengthened data governance, Idemitsu Kosan aims for continuous monitoring and advanced business automation.

At a presentation by International Paper, one of the world's largest paper manufacturers, their digital transformation initiatives utilizing Cognite were showcased. They developed and implemented applications in a short period, including optimizing the resale of out-of-spec rolls. Furthermore, they planned to boost manufacturing efficiency and visibility by integrating AI agents across platforms and standardizing knowledge transfer.

In their presentation, AGC introduced their business reform and DX initiatives at the AGC Chemicals Company as a response to labor shortages resulting from a declining workforce. The one-year Proof of Concept process involved building a data infrastructure (data integration and contextualization), as well as conducting utilization and effectiveness verification by on-site engineers. On the same day as the event, we issued a press release regarding AGC’s adoption of Cognite.

Kiyohide Yoshii, Cosmo Oil
In a relay session demonstrating use cases for the new Cognite Flows product, Cosmo Oil presented how they are using Cognite Flows to enhance their maintenance operations. They demonstrated their commitment to AI-driven maintenance by quickly deploying a custom app that improved operational accuracy and preserved expert knowledge.
