A Look Back at a Critical Year for Cognite

With new partners, unicorn status, and explosive growth, the stage is set for Cognite to disrupt the market for years to come.

What a year.

January set the tone for 2021 when Cognite was named as one of Built in Austin's best places to work. Two months later, Catherine Horn Stenstavold, Principal Product Manager at Cognite was named one of Norway's top women in tech, continuing a three-year streak for Cognite.

In September we hosted our most successful industrial digital conference ever, Ignite Talks. We’ve brought in new partners such as Equinor, ArbaflameHydro ReinOPEX Group, and Huvr just in the last quarter.

This time last year Cognite counted 399 full-time employees. Today we are at 604. That’s a 51 percent increase in just one year.

At 27 percent women, Cogniters are more diverse than ever before, a number well above the tech industry average.

Together we’ve celebrated our diversity throughout the year. We’ve collaborated on hackathons, both virtual and physical.

We’ve embraced a permanent distributed experience, which has made us well-equipped to adjust to ups and downs in the current pandemic and beyond. We've added cities like London, Aberdeen, Buenos Aires, and Toronto to our campuses, office locations, and hubs around the globe.

And as one of Norway’s first unicorns, we’re just getting started.
